Backwards Beauty By Jessie Minassian

51V+iPrNWYL._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_Backwards Beauty by Jessie Minassian looks at ten lies teens believe about beauty.  She writes in a conversational tone that is comfortable and easy to read.  The book is set up with each chapter starting by telling you what to do if you want to feel ugly. Then she goes on to show you why those ways are illogical and what true beauty looks like.

The message in this book was excellent.  It is written to teenagers, but as an adult I still enjoyed reading it and came away with some things I was believing that weren’t true.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it for a younger teen.  I’m not sure if her tone would appeal to older teens. I’m hoping to have a couple of older teens take a look at the book – when they do I’ll update my review.

My favorite thing about the book was her use of Scripture.  The principles were grounded in the Word of God. She has a website that compliments the book called Life, Love and God.  I would recommend this book – especially to younger teens and rate it a four star.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Tyndale House for my honest opinions.
