Chapter 12 Of the Uses of Adversity

Summary

Adversity is not an enemy. It reminds us we are strangers and sojourners here on this earth.  Phil. 3:20 “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ”

When you are unfairly judged, it will keep you humble. You will realize man make mistakes, but God doesn’t. You will cling more fully to Him. Rest in God and don’t seek the comfort of men.  If you are depressed you will cling more to God, and that is a good thing.  Anything that draws us closer to God is good, even if it doesn’t feel like it at the time.
